Hope you had an amazing week! it time for my favorite day of the week again, Friday! Not just because the weekend is here but for the new music!! We've got new music from Billie Eilish, Ava Max, Dan + Shay plus an update on Katy Perry and Selena Gomez!
Now technically Billie dropped her newest single yesterday ' My Future' which was the first song that her and her equally talented brother, Finneas, made during quarantine according to him. He said "I will forever cherish the rainy days I spent making this song with my sister. It’s been a scary year for so many reasons but I choose to be optimistic and so many of you make me feel so inspired about the future. Hope you enjoy this song ♥️" Well, guess what?? I did enjoy it. Thank you to them for blessing our ears and soul with this song! I truly believe that music heals. It's always been therapeutic for me. Annnd who doesn't love a good anime? I know I do! Ava Max love her when she debuted her first single 'Sweet but Psycho' I'm obsessed with it. Followed by her other bops 'So Am I' and 'Kings and Queen.' Now, I have been looking forward to her debut album and she has finally announced a release date for it; ' Heaven & Hell come out September 18th! You know I marked that on my calendar! In the mean time she's give us another song 'Who's Laughing Now.' This should tide me over for the next 7 weeks! haha So for now check out her latest single or should I say bop! She is a MOOD!
Speaking of new albums exciting news for us Alanis Morissette fans as well. Her new album 'Such Pretty Forks in the Road' came out today, finally! It was originally supposed to be out in May but, ya know, covid... Anyways, it's here now and I'm here for it! It's been 8 years sine her last album, "Havoc and Bright Lights". Loving this new one. It's got 11 tracks and after a couple of times listening throught some fo my favorites are 'Smiling,' 'Ablaze,' 'Reasons I Drink,' and 'Her.' I'm digging this new album, if you like Alanis i say give it a listen and in the mean time check out 'Smiling.'
Bastille, one of my favorites, they have released a new song today, 'What You Gonna Do.' Their last album 'Dooms Days' dropped last June I wonder if they predicted this haha Just kidding I don't know of they are this powerful. But that album does have a lot of bops on it, just saying. It's still in my music rotation, one of 15 albums I'm loving from over the last year.
New Dan+ Shay for those who are like me love a little crossover! I was so excited to hear they're releasing a new song and i am not disappointed. They have so much talent between the of them just make magic that feed my soul in a different type of way, that is much needed in my life. If you love them too you'll love this one! Here's their latest 'I Should Probably Go To Bed.' Ironically how appropriate this is for me right now as I type this up late at night, but i can't help it I'm a night owl. lol
Also, I have an update on Katy Parry's new album 'Smile' due to "unavoidable production delays" she said, the album release day has been pushed back until August 28th. Thankfully its only delayed two weeks and fingers crossed there a no more delays. I'm really looking forward to some awesome anthems from our girl Katy.
Now, I've got some good news for my fellow Selenators, she just posted a video to her Instagram say that working on some stuff. You can check it out below. This isn't the first time she has teased on about working on new music. AND if that wasn't enough she is reportedly working on a song with BLACKPINK, the K-Pop group, on their up coming album. Love them and Selena, obviously so this collab sounds like its gonna be fire! They have a song with Dua Lipa on her self-titled debut album 'Kiss and Makeup' and it's a freaking bop! Plus they are on a track on a Lady Gag's new album, 'Sour Candy' also a bop! I'm looking forward to this new collaboration and i'll keep you updated,
