The Tropicana in Las Vegas Closes its Doors, Scheduled to Be Demolished

Little by little, old Las Vegas is being torn down. Yesterday we said goodbye to a legendary Las Vegas casino, The Tropicana shutting its doors for good.

The famous casino is scheduled to be demolished and will make way for the Las Vegas A’s who will be relocated from Oakland in 2028.

Over the last several days, management at the Tropicana say they saw an increase in folks not cashing in their chips. Apparently they thought the souvenirs would be more valuable as collector’s items. You can bet some of those will end up on Ebay.

Eventually the casino completely ran out of the one-dollar and five-dollar chips, leaving only the “greens” which are worth $25 and the $100 black chips.
