I didn't catch last night's broadcast of The Little Mermaid Live, but I'm hearing mixed reviews. I guess it was kind of a mash-up of clips from the movie along with live performances, so a little different from some of the other live musicals that have been televised. The show was a celebration of the movie's 30th anniversary, and it starred Auli'i Cravalho (Moana) as Ariel, Queen Latifah as Ursula, Shaggy as Sebastian the crab and John Stamos as Chef Louis. The only part of the show I saw was Shaggy's performance of "Under the Sea," and I did enjoy that. See what you think! Although his costume was a little weird...and not very crablike at all. It looked more like something from Michael Jackson's closet!
