Dr. Amanda Hess, who is an OB/GYN in Kentucky, was pregnant with her own baby. She was in the hospital getting ready to be induced, when she heard another patient down the hall screaming in labor. Leah Halliday-Johnson had actually been in to see Dr. Hess the week before, but the on-call doctor had not yet arrived at the hospital to deliver her baby. The baby was coming fast and the umbilical cord was around its neck, so Dr. Hess jumped in and delivered the baby. She then went back in her room and soon delivered her own child. Talk about literally working until the last second!
