Think Your Commute is Bad?

If you think your commute is bad…at least it’s not like this! A truck load of slime eels flipped over on the highway, covering at least one car in the nasty, slippery little suckers. Yesterday the Oregon State Police had quite the mess to clean up, and had to close down the road while all of the eels were scooped up. Officially these eels are called hagfish, but they also have earned the nickname “snot snakes,” because of the yucky slime that they secrete. Police say the slime eels are caught off the coast of Oregon, and were headed for Korea because they eat them over there! Bleech! Gross as they are, they do play an important role in the ecosystem keeping the oceans clean by burrowing into the carcasses of dead and dying sea creatures and eating them. Lovely.
