Ohio Teen's Celebration After Blockbuster NFL Trade Prompts Police Response

A 17-year-old Cleveland Browns fan was so happy when he learned that his favorite team had traded for Odell Beckham Jr. that he ran out into the street to celebrate. His loud screaming concerned a neighbor who called 911 thinking a woman was in trouble.

“Boom. We got OBJ. I was so excited. I couldn’t help myself. I was jumping all around my house because I couldn’t help myself; I was so excited. My brother told me to stop but I couldn’t because I was so excited. Couldn’t nothing stop me. So, I had to rejoice outside,” Robert Stewart told FOX8 Cleveland.

When officers from the Shaker Heights Police Department arrived, Stewart told them that he was just excited because of the blockbuster trade in which the Browns acquired Beckham Jr. from the New York Giants in exchange for Jabrill Peppers and draft picks.

“They were like, 'Oh! We got OBJ!' We dapped it up. Everything was all cool. They went about their day,” Stewart told the news station.

After celebrating with Stewart the officers explained the situation to the his neighbor before leaving.

"After everyone shared their combined excitement, the future General Manager for the Browns quietly returned to his residence to resume his festivities without disturbing the neighbors," the police department said in a statement.
