Yesterday around 1:30p, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center declared a "Code Silver" lockdown, but it was unknown at first why. We now know that the reason was because a Rhode Island man, Travis Frink, drove all the way up to Dartmouth-Hitchcock solely to shoot his 70-year-old mother.

He did, and she didn't survive. The man is in police custody and the reasoning behind the shooting isn't known, but NH State Police are looking for anyone with information on the reasoning or whereabouts of Travis before the shooting to call with information -- 603-223-8568.

Thankfully, all other medical staff and patients were safe, and Dartmouth-Hitchcock President Joanne Conroy said it was due to active-shooter training in the hospital.

Today, people did exactly what we instructed them to do.
